Intern Application

Description of Responsibilities

Reports to:

  • President of Coast Forensic League

General Responsibilities:

The intern assists the CFL President in maintaining records and data relevant to the league. Past, ongoing, and potential projects include:

  • collecting data on past tournament attendance

  • tracking wild cards from each tournament

  • creating and managing surveys to get student feedback on tournaments

  • determining side bias for parli debate resolutions

  • tabulating league sweepstakes awards

  • observing tournaments and noting areas for growth

  • collecting statistics on tournament food from different tournament hosts

  • creating and maintaining room lists for CFL tournament host sites

CFL interns are also tasked with organizing and running the December 1 novice debate league tournament at Washington HS.

Hours of work:

  • 3-5 hours per month (mostly online)

  • Mutually agreed upon dates and times.

Required Qualifications

  • Willing to train

  • Responds to emails quickly

  • Interest in Speech and Debate

  • Familiarity with Google Sheets

  • Flexible schedule

  • Trustworthy/responsible

Eligibility:

  • Current CFL competitor with at least one year experience competing

  • Interns who fulfill their responsibilities will be eligible for a letter of recommendation from the CFL President to their potential employers and universities.
