All schools must register for Coast Forensic League (CFL) annually in order to be eligible to participate in CFL tournaments. To participate in the CFL state qualifying tournaments, schools must also register for CHSSA. Please note that registering for CFL does not automatically make you a member of CHSSA, NSDA, or NSDA California Coast District (see explainer).

Coaches, please see the School Eligibility List to inquire if your school is eligible to compete at our League Tournaments for the 2021-2022 Season. Schools eligible should have a "Yes" in the column for "Tournament Eligibility."

Registration for the 2021-2022 season is now open.

To register for CFL, please follow the three steps below.

Step 1: Print and fill out the CFL School Membership Form, scan it, and email it to coast[dot]forensic[dot]league[at]gmail[dot]com with the subject line "[School Name] Membership Form." You will need a signature of your school administrator. To reduce the workload for CFL officers, member schools are encouraged to initial on the form next to the 'electronic mail' option for receiving communications from CFL.

Step 2: CFL membership dues for the 2021-2022 season are $85 per school. This amount increases to $142 after October 1. They must be paid separately from tournament entry fees, so you cannot pay them out of your general CFL balance. You must pay membership dues even if your overall CFL account balance going into the season is positive.

2a. Mail a check covering your school's CFL membership dues to the CFL Treasurer. Payment instructions can be found on the Membership Form above, which also functions as your invoice.

2b. Alternatively, you can pay your membership dues online using PayPal's 'Pay Now' button right below this paragraph. If the button doesn't appear, refresh the page and wait for it to load. If you don't have a PayPal account, the button allows you to pay with a debit or credit card. You must enter your school name in the field right above the button before clicking the button.

2c. You can request a membership dues waiver. To check whether your school is eligible, see Article XXV Section 3 of the Board Manual. If your school/program is in need of financial aid for the 21-22 school year, and you do not meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Board Manual, please email, for more information about receiving financial aid.

Step 3: Fill out the online form below. If any of the information you submit through this form changes mid-season, please provide the updated information using our Contact Form.

Upon the conclusion of the three steps, your coaches' contact information will be added to the CFL Roster. The data from the roster will be used to add coaches to the CFL coaches Google group. Members of the Google group will receive important league announcements and notifications about upcoming league meetings. They will also have access to the CFL Google Drive, which will allow them to view their school's account balance and other important information. No emails that are not on the Roster will be added to the coaches Google group or allowed to view files in the CFL Google Drive.

If you leave your coaching position, please unsubscribe from the Google group by emailing
